This policy explains what information the
Hour Glass: Focus & Timer Android app (package
com.hourglass.timer, the “App”) handles, why, and the
choices you have. The App is operated by
Growthspark7 (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- The App needs no account and no sign-in.
- Your timers, focus sessions, routines, and settings are stored only on your device. We never see them, and they are deleted when you uninstall the App.
- The App shows ads through Google AdMob and uses Firebase for anonymous usage statistics and push notifications. These Google services collect limited device data as described below.
- We do not sell personal data.
1. Data stored only on your device
Timer durations, session history and statistics, routines, breathing exercise choices, and app settings (theme, sounds, and similar preferences) are saved in a local database on your phone. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its storage.
2. Data collected by third-party services
The App includes the following Google services. They collect certain data automatically to provide their function:

These services are provided by Google LLC and are covered by Google’s Privacy Policy and AdMob’s data practices.
3. Advertising and your choices
Ads may be personalised based on your advertising ID. You can opt out of personalised ads or reset your advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads on some devices). Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), the App asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can decline.
4. Permissions the App uses
- Internet — to load ads and receive notifications.
- Notifications — timer-finished alerts and occasional updates; optional and revocable in system settings.
- Vibration — haptic feedback when a timer completes.
- Foreground service & wake lock — to keep a running timer accurate while the App is in the background.
The App does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files, or precise location.
5. Children
The App is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad content rating is capped in line with Google Play family policies.
6. Data retention and deletion
We hold no user database, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side. Uninstalling the App (or clearing its storage in Android settings) permanently deletes all locally stored timer data. Data held by Google services is retained under Google’s own retention policies; you can exercise your rights directly with Google via the links above.
7. Security
All network communication with Google services uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Your timer data never travels over the network at all.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s Play Store listing.
