1. What this app is
108 Divya Desam (package
com.divyadesam108.mapguide) is a free guide to the 108
Divya Desam temples of Lord Vishnu — the sacred abodes praised by the
Alwars. It works offline: every temple, photograph and description is
bundled inside the app, and the map, directions and daily reminder are
built on top of that.

2.2 Location
If — and only if — you tap Near me or the locate button on the map, the app asks Android for your approximate location so it can sort the temples by distance and centre the map on you.
2.3 Stored on your device only
- Saved temples and the ones you have ticked as visited.
- Theme, dynamic colour and reminder time.
- The catalogue cache, so the app opens instantly with no network.
These never leave your phone. Uninstalling or clearing app data removes them.
2.4 What we do NOT collect
- No name, phone number or email address.
- No accounts, no login, no profile.
- No background or continuous location tracking.
- No access to your photos, contacts, calendar or microphone.
- No payments of any kind.

4. Advertising and consent
The app is free and supported by Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to personalize ads and measure performance. On first launch in a region that requires consent (EU/EEA, UK, and under India's DPDP Act), the app shows the Google UMP consent dialog where you can accept, reject, or customize personalization. If you decline personalized ads, AdMob still shows non-personalized ads so the app can remain free. You can reopen that dialog any time from Settings → Ad privacy options.
5. Data retention
- Crashlytics: 90 days for crash reports (Firebase default).
- Analytics: 14 months (GA4 default). Anonymous; cannot be tied to you.
- FCM token: until you uninstall, clear app data, or turn off notifications.
- On-device preferences: until you uninstall or clear app data.
6. Children
The app's content rating is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The Google UMP consent flow includes a child-directed treatment mechanism which we honor.
7. Your choices
- Turn off reminders: Settings → Daily reminder → toggle off; or disable notifications in your phone's system settings.
- Withdraw location: Android Settings → Apps → 108 Divya Desam → Permissions → Location → Don't allow.
- Reset ad personalization: Device Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID.
- Request deletion: email us (below) and we will action any data-deletion request.
8. Indian DPDP Act 2023
This app processes minimal personal data and provides notice and consent (via the UMP dialog) before any ad personalization. Consent can be withdrawn at any time as described in §7. Data is processed only for the limited purposes listed in §2. We honor data-principal rights to access, correction and erasure via the contact address below.

Temple names, descriptions and photographs are compiled from publicly available sources for devotional and informational use. This app is an independent guide and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official channel of any temple, trust or government body. If you believe any content infringes your rights, contact us and we will review it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
