Stotra (package com.stotra.devotional) is
a free devotional app that lets you read popular Hindu hymns and stotras
— such as the Hanuman Chalisa, Vishnu Sahasranama and Vinayaka
Ashtothram — in six languages, completely offline, with optional gentle
daily reminders to keep up your practice.

2.2 Stored on your device only
- Preferred language, text size and theme — saved on your device.
- Favourited stotras and recently read — saved on your device.
- Notification & onboarding preferences — saved on your device.
These never leave your phone. Uninstalling or clearing app data removes them.
2.3 What we do NOT collect
- We do not ask for your name, phone number, or email address.
- We do not collect your location.
- We have no user accounts — there is no login.
- We do not access your photos, contacts, calendar, or microphone.
- We do not take payments of any kind.

4. Advertising and consent
The app is free and supported by Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to personalize ads and measure performance. On first launch in a region that requires consent (EU/EEA, UK, and under India's DPDP Act), the app shows the Google UMP consent dialog where you can accept, reject, or customize personalization. If you decline personalized ads, AdMob still shows non-personalized ads so the app can remain free.
5. Data retention
- Crashlytics: 90 days for crash reports (Firebase default).
- Analytics: 14 months (GA4 default). Anonymous; cannot be tied to you.
- FCM token: until you uninstall, clear app data, or turn off notifications.
- On-device preferences: until you uninstall or clear app data.
6. Children
The app's content rating is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The Google UMP consent flow includes a child-directed treatment mechanism which we honor.
7. Your choices
- Turn off reminders: in the app, Settings → Daily reminders → toggle off; or disable notifications in your phone's system settings.
- Reset ad personalization: Device Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID.
- Request deletion: email us (below) and we will action any data-deletion request.
8. Indian DPDP Act 2023
This app processes minimal personal data and provides notice and consent (via the UMP dialog) before any ad personalization. Consent can be withdrawn at any time as described in §7. Data is processed only for the limited purposes listed in §2. We honor data-principal rights to access, correction and erasure via the contact address below.

The stotras in this app are traditional devotional texts in the public domain, provided for personal spiritual practice. If you believe any content infringes your rights, contact us and we will review it promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
